Summary
Project located on Turkeys South-East Region in Batman and Diyarbakir province. Project water source is Batman Dam. Project based on Planning Report established in 1993. Project formulation is intermediate-pressure pipes that take water over from main channel. Pipes distribute water to the irrigation field. Project also contains 3 pump station that deliver water from main channel to P1, P2 and P3 main channels. P1 and P2 main channels are downstream controlled. Main channel alignments mostly goes over roughly terrain and steep slopes. There for 5 gallery must be construct on the alignment. Also many creeks must be passed for this reason 25 syphon must be construct. Project located in Batman and Diyarbakır province on South-East region of the Turkey. Project planning to irrigate right and left bank of the Batman River via water potential of this river. Project water source is Batman Dam which built on the same river. On the right bank there are Diyarbakır Province’s Silvan and Bismil district, on the left bank there are Batman Province’s main villages’ irrigation lands. Project contains 18,917 ha irrigation land. 9,681 ha of 18,917 ha is gravitational, 9,236 ha is pumping irrigation. On main gravity channel km: 46+953.00 P1 pumping station is located. And on P1 channel km: 1+799.00 P2 pumping station is located.
Topography have weak grade on the upstream section. There are huge planes on the valley side. North side of the irrigation field Silvan District lays on west-east direction. South side of the irrigation field Raman heightens lays on west-east direction. Project field have deep subsidence both north and south. For south and north project field topography is rising. These rising topography have bare mountains and at the top of the mountains little planes. Subsidence topography pretty wavy.
Project main purposes are Diyarbakır Province’s Silvan and Bismil district, Batman Province’s rising population needs, produce more food items, offer business opportunity, rise populations standard of living.

Batman Left bank main gravity channel length 66 km. Water taken from Batman Dam transmitted to irrigation field with gravitational. Initial discharge of the main channel is 20.20 m³/s. Main channel is mostly have trapezoidal section, some sections are channel with the wall. On main channel there are 24 Syphon and 5 galleries.

Batman Left bank main gravity channel length 33 km. Water taken from P2 Pumping Station. Initial discharge of the main channel is 10.76 m³/s. Main channel have only trapezoidal section. On main channel there are 1 Syphon.
